A Passion for Putting Patients First
Opened in 1969 as a focal point for health care in St. Martin Parish, St. Martin Hospital has been dedicated to taking care of the health needs of the people in the communities we serve. As we continue to improve and update our technology and services, we will remain focused on providing the best possible care for you, your family and your friends and neighbors.
Formerly known as Gary Memorial Hospital, our name was changed to St. Martin Hospital as of September 18, 2000. We became an affiliate of
Lafayette General Medical Center at the same time.

On July 1, 2001, St. Martin Hospital became a critical access hospital. In 2009, St. Martin Hospital entered into a long term affiliation with Lafayette General Medical Center, Acadiana's largest full service acute care hospital. This affiliation not only brings stability to health care within the parish, but also has allowed for an extension of medical services and an expansion of medical care to the people of St. Martin Parish.
"This is an exciting time at St. Martin Hospital," said Katie Hebert, Chief Executive Officer."Several changes and improvements have been made since the partnership with Lafayette General in 2009. Residents in St. Martin Parish can expect more outpatient services to become available, as Lafayette General's focus for St. Martin Hospital is to extend our reach throughout the parish by expanding our services."
We are a 25-bed critical access hospital, which maintains a staffed 24-hour emergency department, including a staffed physician, as well as state of the art imaging equipment, including CT scanner and digital mammograms. Outpatient services include radiology, lab-testing, respiratory therapy, as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
